Agua Trucks Equipment & Employee Safety
We Are Serious About Safety
We start day 1. While onboarding, each driver goes through two weeks of training to learn the equipment and receive safety training appropriate for their individual roles and duties. We use written training guides along with a “teach back” system to ensure they understand.
Before we can operate equipment on a construction site we need to drive our trucks to the site. This means we train driver safety during the two-week onboarding process too. This includes daily pre-trip and post trip inspections, policies on the use of cell phones and a driving test.
All our trucks are equipped with forward facing and driver facing dash cams. These dash cams monitor and record, speed, distracted driving, seat belts following too close and more.
Then we must train them in the safety expectations of our customers. As a member of the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona and involved with their safety committee we are on top of our builder concerns. We have pledged “Safe Job Conduct” to our builders.
Our sweeper operators are not done, these drivers and office staff take applicable courses in the North American Power Sweeping Association’s, Sweeper School. Those who have completed certain courses and demonstrated their knowledge and safety are either a Certified Sweeper Operator or a Certified Sweeper Manager.
We don’t stop talking about safety after onboarding. Our management conducts monthly staff meetings that all employees attend. These meetings cover housekeeping, news, and at least two safety topics. We have invited outside speakers such as DOT officers and builder representatives to participate in our meetings as well.
